In honor of Veteran's day, it bears referencing that acupuncture is being commonly used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for active-duty service members in the U.S. . It's a pleasure to see this dynamic medicine being used as an alternative or adjunct therapy to typical, standardized treatment. Acupuncture can reduce or eliminate the need for pharmaceutical intervention & additionally help with other commonly related symptoms such as:
*difficulty focusing / easily startled
*chronic fatigue / muscle weakness
*pain or fibromyalgia
Treatment of PTSD or any of the symptoms above is not only for active-duty military or Veterans, but for anyone who has experienced either chronic or acute trauma. Even a stressful or dramatic life-experience can lead to PTSD. If you have questions about how acupuncture can help, please let me know. Happy Veteran's Day & thank you to those who have served! - Holly Christiansen, Licensed Acupuncturist at Bluegrass Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky.
